Rick and Morty Season 4, Episode 1 – Quick Review & Commentary
Adult Swim | Rick and Morty
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the episode felt a little short—probably because I was so into it. Honestly, I could watch this show for hours without getting bored.
I wish I had known this was available for free on the Adult Swim website and app in fullscreen before I bought the episode. They put a lot of work into making this series, and it’s disappointing to see people ripping it off and monetizing it elsewhere. That’s just wrong.
Episode Highlights (Mild Spoilers)
Later in the episode, Morty encounters the school bully—but thanks to his death-crystal-induced Zen state, he couldn’t care less. Unfortunately, the bully doesn’t appreciate the New Age energy and threatens Morty. That moment leads to a new stream of crystal visions.
It’s actually kind of sad. I was hoping to see more of Summer later on—maybe there’s still a chance in the next episode. Honestly, Jessica and Summer both kind of spoiled the momentum in this premiere. Still, it’s a solid episode overall.

Bonus Thoughts
Two years after the creative high of Season 3, this premiere takes us back to a simpler, more classic “Rick and Morty” format. It’s a bit of a reset—but not necessarily a bad one.
And if you’re here from the UK and still waiting to watch this… hang in there. You’re not alone. 😄
